World Athletics said more countries than ever were represented in the finals of events in Eugene, the smallest city to host the global meet every two years.
Before the last session on Sunday, the sport’s governing body said that a record 79 countries had finalists at the 10-day event. It was up from 76 countries in Doha three years ago.
