It seems Lionel Messi will be leaving Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) and transfer to Saudi Arabia, reports stated as early as May 3.

Messi, 35, is rumored to be joining Saudi’s Al-Hilal, Spanis radio station Onda Cero, claimed. The rumor came after the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner had a two-week suspension for fulfilling his tourism ambassador duties without the permission of PSG.

Apart from being suspended, Messi also lost $2.5 million from his paycheck and had to sit out the games against Troyes and Ajaccio.

Furthermore, there will be no more contract renewals for him as PSG opted to cancel the offer. Such a rumor also came from the same radio station.

There will also be attempts from his former Barcelona team and the latest reports have stated that the Catalan giants will “do anything” to have Messi back. But they had to make sacrifices, to say the least.

In order for them to have him back, they must comply with LaLiga’s Fair Play rules. Barcelona will have to lower their wage bill by at least £180 million.

OkBet Lionel Messi to transfer to Saudi

Unfortunately, both Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen refused to have their paychecks cut. The midfielder and defender reasoned that they turned down new deals and offers just to be with Barcelona.

This is reasonable since Kessie is an excellent set-piece taker and is an absolute beast in the penalty box. Christensen, on the other hand, is one of the best defenders.

That being said, refusing a salary decrease is reasonable for the two, and Barcelona now must find other ways.

It will all be for naught, however.

Lionel Messi ‘Sets’ His Heart to Saudi

Lionel Messi’s rumored transfer to Saudi has been confirmed by the French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) last May 9.

According to their source, Messi will, in fact, play for Saudi Arabia next season, and is already a “done deal.”

However, the club that he will be playing for has yet to be revealed as the source. Although there are talks that he will go to Al-Hilal, fans of Messi will never know until he announces it himself.
