Echo Laure commits to UST for upcoming UAAP in Okbet Basketball Updates

Echo Laure joins the Growling Tigers basketball team at UST, following in the footsteps of his volleyball-playing sisters EJ and Eya. The okbet site is one of the best in the Philippines for sports events and tournaments.

Echo Laure has agreed to play for the UST Growling Tigers. She is a second-generation star. It is an excellent addition to the young players they already have.

The 19-year-old told Rappler that he was going to go to UST. He is the son of retired PBA player Eddie Laure and the younger brother of EJ and Eya Laure, both of whom play volleyball for UST.

The 6-foot-5 forward trained in the United States for the past year. He will return to the Philippines in August to join his new team and prepare for the UAAP Season 85.

“I chose to go to UST partly because I have family members who went there. When my older sisters were there, I saw how well they were taken care of, and I also saw how the UST community treats its athletes, “Laure said.

The former star at NU High School made it clear that his commitment is only verbal now. However, he plans to make it official when he returns to the country.

“For me, a verbal or written commitment is still a commitment, and I hope to keep it. And give my all to the UST community and Father Rodel Cansancio for letting me play for such a top college,” he said.

Laure is glad that colleges like NU and Adamson are interested in him and want him to be a part of their plans for the future. “But in the end, UST felt like home to me. Which is one of the reasons I chose to go there,” he said.

In highschool basketball, Laure was a slasher

Laure was a slasher when he played basketball in high school in the Philippines. But he has been working on his outside game since moving abroad.

“It’s been great so far,” he said. “Playing in tournaments here showed me how physically and skillfully different Philippine and American basketball is.”

“I’ve been playing in Filipino tournaments here, and we might play in a couple of AAU tournaments soon. But I’m mostly focused on practicing, working out, and getting better every day,” he said.

Because college basketball players are taller, stronger, and better, Laure has worked hard to improve his agility, speed, and force. Also, to play either of the forward positions in college basketball.

He can’t wait to meet all of his new teammates and catch up with Nic Cabaero and Jordi Gomez de Liao, two of his old friends.

He said excitedly, “I can’t wait to see what our relationship will be like when we’re on the court concurrently again as teammates and not as opponents.”

Eddie, his father, played for the Batangas Blades in the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA). He was the Rookie of the Year, the Scoring Champion, a member of the Mythical Team, the Most Valuable Player, and a champion. He then started playing in the PBA for 13 years before becoming an assistant coach for UST’s volleyball team and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

His sister EJ was the team captain for UST and guided them to the Final Four. While Eya was the top scorer and a candidate for UAAP MVP in Season 84. At Okbet Basketball Betting Odds, you can bet on the most important games of the UAAP season.
